Visiting Entrepreneur Joey Hundert

Joey Hundert and students

We had a very successful week of one-on-one sessions and round table meetings with guest social entrepreneur Joey Hundert, of Sustainival, among many other social ventures!

Here’s Hundert meeting with students for a lunch discussion today. Hundert met with dozens of students at Wharton across the span of three days, discussing social impact, entrepreneurship and innovation in personal conferences or collaborative group sessions.

Based on a post-visit survey conducted by WSII intern Donald Sonn, an overwhelming 95% of participants found the experience valuable and almost all of them wanted to see him come back. We look forward to hosting more social entrepreneurs in the future!

Students say:

“He gave me very valuable insight into entrepreneurship and great feedback on my start-up idea.”

“He was very down to earth, and super constructive … he was extremely interested in actually seeing how he could help us. … Very passionate and just great overall. I’m thankful that I had the opportunity to meet him.”

“I had a great time speaking with Joey and actually getting to know him as a person rather than some celebrity figure and I think that leaves more of an impact on individuals rather than a 500-audience speaker series.”

“.. rather than just talking about himself he was extremely interested in actually seeing how he could help us. He was not your typical ‘high achiever but will talk diplomatic’ – he was incredibly helpful in giving me real advice about how to approach the world. Very passionate and just great overall, and thankful that I had the opportunity to meet him. “
