Wharton Social Impact Initiative is pleased to announce the Lauren and Bobby Turner Social Impact Executive Speaker Series will feature a dialogue with tennis star and philanthropist Andre Agassi.
In celebration of the fifth anniversary of the series, Agassi returns to Wharton on Tuesday, November 4 to talk about his impactful role in the business community, as well as his partnership with Bobby Turner, W’84. Together, the speakers will delve into how they have harnessed market forces to create a sustainable solution to a critical issue facing America’s public education system.
The event is open to the Penn community, but pre-registration is required and a valid Penn ID must be shown at the door. Seating is first-come, first-served. Online registration is now open.
Presented in collaboration with the Wharton Social Impact Initiative and hosted by Turner, the series seeks to inspire the Penn community with leaders who are “doing well, and doing good.” The annual series brings high-profile speakers to campus to discuss philanthropy, advocacy, education, investing and other efforts to create positive change in the world.
Previous guests have included Eva Longoria, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Ashton Kutcher, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and Michael Feinberg. Agassi first appeared in the speaker series in March 2011, and also spoke on the SiriusXM show “Dollars and Change” early this spring. Both men are now Managing Partners of the Turner-Agassi Charter Schools Facilities Fund, a partnership facilitating the development of school sites in urban communities across the United States.
