Wharton Social Impact Initiative is pleased to welcome Liesel Pritzker Simmons, our second business leader to visit campus through the Angella and David Nazarian Social Innovator in Residence Program.
The Angella and David Nazarian Social Innovators in Residence program hosts leaders who leverage business-based solutions to solve economic and social challenges in communities around the globe. Our first visiting innovator was Diana Ayton-Shenker, of Global Momenta, in October 2014.
Liesel Pritzker Simmons is the co-founder and Principal of Blue Haven Initiative, a family office dedicated to investing for-profit and non-profit capital to advance solutions to social and environmental challenges.
She is also the co-founder of the IDP Foundation, a private foundation with a mission to mobilize resources and strategic support to increase educational opportunities.
Established in 2008, the IDP Foundation has supported and developed a wide range of programs in the education sectors most notably the innovative IDP Rising Schools Program in Ghana, which leverages microfinance networks to empower nearly 200 low cost private schools with trainings and financial services.
During her residence at Wharton on November 11 and 12, Simmons will attend small-group meetings with MBAs and undergraduates, meet-and-greet with student clubs and groups, participate in an interview with Knowledge@Wharton, and appear live on SiriusXM’s Dollars and Change on Business Radio 111 powered by The Wharton School.
