Diana Ayton-Shenker, Social Entrepreneurship Professor and Social Impact Strategist, will take up residence at Wharton October 22-23
Philadelphia, PA, September 26, 2014—Wharton Social Impact Initiative is pleased to announce that Diana Ayton-Shenker will be the first business leader to visit campus through the Angella and David Nazarian Social Innovator in Residence Program.
Named one of “25 Dynamic Women Changing the World” by Good Business New York, Ayton-Shenker is a leader in social impact, strategic philanthropy, leadership and organizational development, and private-nonprofit partnership.
Since 2003, she has served as founder and CEO of Global Momenta, a social impact consulting firm that specializes in philanthropy, impact investments, partnerships and leadership. In 2008, she founded Fast Forward+ (Formerly Fast Forward Fund), a youth-driven social enterprise with a mission to accelerate a new generation of philanthropic investors and generate sustainable social change. Ayton-Shenker also servers as Director of Kick NYC, a new social entrepreneurship accelerator program.
The Penn graduate teaches social entrepreneurship at the Milano School of Management at The New School in New York City, and previously led courses in innovation, strategic philanthropy, and business strategy at Bard College’s MBA in Sustainability program.
The Nazarian Social Innovator in Residence Program, established in fall 2014, brings innovative business leaders to Penn for two to five day periods. Hosted by the Wharton Social Impact Initiative office, the program aims to foster meaningful interactions between current students and prominent social visionaries, and provides a unique learning opportunity for students interested in pursuing careers with an emphasis on social impact and responsibility.
The Innovators in Residence will host group sessions, meet with students individually during office hours, and lead large discussion groups and workshops while on campus for an annual visit.
Ayton-Shenker will be on campus from October 22-23, 2014, with a schedule that includes office hours, lunch and dinner sessions with social impact-focused audiences, meetings with student leaders and more.
